“Berlin Risk’s online journal Global Risk Affairs provides risk professionals and decision-makers in politics and business with analysis of compliance issues and political risks.”
Dr. Carsten Giersch – Senior Partner and Publisher
Launched in 2010, Berlin Risk’ online journal Global Risk Affairs offers its readers insights into the various links between compliance and political risks facing multinational corporations.
The increasing anti-financial crime regulation for targeting corruption, money-laundering, fraud and tax evasion is driven by national and international politics. At the same time, compliance and reputational risks attached to international business operations are rooted in the local political environment in which the projects and its partners are set.
Finally, any international organisation operating abroad will also shape the environment through its activities and is therefore likely to become itself part of the political risk landscape in a country. Responsible business conduct is therefore key to mitigating political risk.
