Verena Horne

Verena is an experienced integrity due diligence consultant who has conducted a wide range of complex cross-border investigations worldwide. She also manages regulatory consulting projects, with a special focus on sanctions compliance.

A former financial journalist and editor, Verena has in the past worked as an editorial trainer and consultant for companies in the risk analysis and business intelligence sectors. She has covered most corners of the world throughout her career, but has a regional specialisation in South and South-east Asia, and has worked for many years as a political risk analyst for India. She also counts Syria, Iraq, and the wider Middle East among her areas of interest.

Verena holds a BA from the London School of Economics and a joint MA in Global History from Berlin’s Humboldt and Free universities, where she focused on South Asian studies. Her research has been published in the South Asia Chronicle academic journal. She is a native speaker of English and is fluent in German.
