Dr. Bernd Träxler

Dr. Bernd Träxler was most recently Chief Compliance Officer role at EBRD, a multilateral development bank and at Erste Group, a leading commercial bank in CEE. Prior to that he also held a variety of Compliance leadership roles at a US financial services provider and also worked for the Austrian regulator (FMA), responsible for banking supervision and international cooperation amongst regulators. In 2024 he advised the Republic of Austria in setting up a retail savings product including the establishment of a KYC procedure, an AML/CFT/Sanctions Risk Assessment and an AML/CFT/Sanctions Policy.

Dr. Bernd Träxler has been Associate Partner at Berlin Risk Advisors since 2025. In this role, he supports development banks on anti-corruption, AML/CFT, financial sanctions, sanction mechanisms in connection with misconduct by project partners topics as well as on meeting requirements relating to internal and external conflicts of interest (code of conduct).
